Lauren Schneider

Chief Operating Officer

A trained lawyer, Lauren has 18 years of experience in regulatory, legal and other roles in complex environments, including the Australian Taxation Office, Australian Securities and Investments Commission, Crown Law (Queensland), a TAFE and a university. Skilled in distilling high volumes of information from disparate sources to make cases and other arguments, Lauren is also a high-level administrator with significant experience in business process improvement and project management. Lauren managed the Australian Allied Health Assistants’ National Association‘s association management and secretariat functions through establishment phase, developing membership management structures and procedures while providing executive officer functions including policy identification and drafting. She brings her strong governance and operational background to regulation- and corporate governance- related policy projects for peak body clients.

Senior Policy Advisor

Our policy work is led by our Senior Policy Officer Dr Anne-Louise Carlton, an international expert in health practitioner regulation. Anne-Louise is an experienced regulatory policy practitioner who was instrumental in the design and implementation of the National Registration and Accreditation Scheme under the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law, has undertaken country reviews of health workforce regulation for World Health Organization (WHO) and other international development agencies and most recently, completed a review of the global literature to inform the development of the first WHO Global Guidance on health practitioner regulation. Anne-Louise has an in depth understanding of the layers of quality assurance that shape practitioner scopes of practice (registration, credentialing, clinical governance, facilities licensing, etc.), and the necessary linkages between them.

Our CEO and founder, Dr Susan Nancarrow is an international allied health workforce researcher, former academic, and experienced clinician with more than 30 years’ experience, as well as a director on a local health district board. Susan is a sought-after presenter and workforce consultant, with a keen interest in improving health workforce efficiency and quality through effective workforce planning, strategy, and best practice regulation.
